Explanation:
In 2020, nearly half of all fraudulent global ID intercepted at the UK border was imitating ID cards from EU member states. In October 2021, the UK removed the ability for many EU/EEA/EFTA ID cards to be used at the border to gain entry to the UK – and in so doing massively reduced the chances of fraudulent documentation being used to get into the country.
This increase in border security against the entry of unknown persons, would simply not have been possible without leaving the EU.
